Hi guys, does it make any sense to create long and slow connection across the border? Why not to use classic internet and to connect using old good VPN?
hm, about the VPN: dont know yet, i prefer to have our own link without any carrier inbetween. how do you mean VPN? do you mean we should lay out some 10 km cable?
anyway, i just checked in google world program. You can tilt the view and it will show approximate height infos. At least good enough to see the small hills in that area. below are the pictures for the Retz -> Mikulov link..
I think we should meet in person in that area and just give it a try
i was thinking if it is possible to design an antenna for the retz <-> znojmo link with near optica properties, i.e. very directional.
i was playing around with paraboloids and elipsoids.
anybody here in czfree who has some knowledge about this?
the reason is: if we build this link, i think it would be very very cool
to be able to say "we have a 36mbit international link" . This would give us a very good status when we apply for peering partners over here.
with good national peerinig partners our total bandwidth will be quite
high.
